Mad Studies community course July-August 2016 at Waddington Street Centre, Durham City
A core group of forum members have been working on a Mad Studies community course which we delivered over 6 weeks, every Monday starting July 4th, through to 8th August. The venue was Waddington Street Centre in Durham City.
Our regular MAD Studies forum meetings recommenced on Thursday 15th September 4pm-6pm at Waddington Street.
We have 10 places on our course, beginning weekly on Monday 4th July to Monday 8th August (inclusive). It is free to attend but we are unable to provide travel costs. We ask that participants are able to commit to each Monday (10am until 4pm) from 4th July until 8th August (6 Mondays in total), no prior experience is necessary or required, just an inquisitive mind, some experience of madness and distress, and a desire to fight for equality. Participants will be invited to keep a reflective journal which will remain private to them and perhaps contribute to creative projects and the work of the NEMS forum in the future, but this is entirely optional. For more information about the NEMS forum please see http://madstudiesne.weebly.com/.
We are currently inviting expressions of interest from potential participants. if you are interested in attending the course, please complete the form below. We will then get in touch about arranging an informal group introductory meeting so that you can find out more about us and we can find out more about you. If you would like to express your interest in participating in the course please do so by reply e-mail Friday 20th May.
On behalf of the core group working on the course, I am happy to answer any questions you may have in the interim. Please feel free to circulate this amongst your networks and others who may be interested.
